MRS. REDMOND DAVIS
Mrs. Olive Davis, wife of J. R. Davis of Emden, died at her home there early Monday morning following a long illness of cancer. She had been a patient sufferer for more than a year. About a year ago Mr. Davis took his wife to Mayo Bros. Hospital, but the physicians there could give her no relief.
Olive Moreland was born in Marion county May 27, 1860 (sic), and was in her 62d year. On March 5, 1862, she was married to Mr. Davis and since that time had resided in Shelby county in Emlen and vicinity. There was one child which died in infancy.
She is survived by her husband, three sisters, Mrs. R. D. Goodwin and Mrs. Minter Davis of Emden and Miss Ella Moreland of San Francisco, and three brothers, Ben Moreland, who lives on the home farm in Marion county; D. T. Moreland of Saline county and T. H. Moreland, who lives in Idaho.
Funeral services were held yesterday at 10 a. m. at the Emden Christian church, of which deceased was a member, conducted by Rev. V. T. Wood of Paris, Mo. Burial was in Andrew Chapel cemetery.
