For perhaps 200 years we all thought that the family was from Germany. Not so as Casey Coil has had a DNA done and there is no German in it. He has informed me that the family was from Scotland.

Gabriel Kile Coil was the son of Volentine Felte Gile and Margaret, his wife. He was the oldest of 6 children. He and his brothers, Jacob & George fought in the Indian Wars of 1754 and the Virginia Militia during the Rev War. He married Rebecca Skidmore and their son Andrew also fought with his father and uncles in the Rev War. Gabriel and Rebecca had 12 children.

THERE ARE MANY BITS AND PIECES ON THE INTERNET ON THIS FAMILY. FEW ARE CONNECTED. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN HELPING PUT THEM ALL TOGETHER, PLEASE CONTACT ME. I WOULD NEED HELP AT THIS TIME OF MY LIFE.

Kile-Coil-Coile are all names in use today for this family.

Looking on he internet, 2 of the Coil boys were listed as dying on the same day in 1869. The only one for sure was Henry which I found records.
