Andrés Pico y Baca was the son of José Antonio Bernardino de Sena Pico y Gutiérrez and his second wife* María Magdalena Baca y Bernal de Gautier. His mother was the widow of Julián Gautier, father of Andrés' half-brother Luís Gautier y Baca.
