Marie was born April 9, 1917, in Donnybrook, to Anthony and Lena (Goettle) Mader. She was raised and educated in the Blaisdell and White Earth areas. As a young adult, she assisted with the operation of the family farm and was employed at a cafe in White Earth.
Marie married Richard Posey in September 1939 in White Earth. They made their home there before moving to Stanley, where they lived from 1942 to 1950. Richard died in 1950, and Marie worked at Will Lumber Co. from 1950 to 1958.
Marie married Milton Dunn on Nov. 10, 1954, in Stanley. They moved to Minot in 1958, where she was employed at Sweetheart Bakery as the payroll clerk from 1961 until 1977. She retired in May 1977. Marie and Milton continued to reside in Minot following their retirement with Marie living most recently at Brentmoor and Trinity Homes. Milton died in 2009.

Marie was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Minot and volunteered at Our Lady of Grace Food Pantry. She enjoyed crafts, puzzles and reading.
Marie is survived by: her stepchildren, Bruce (Kathy) Dunn, Winchester, Calif., Diane (Myron) Mogard, Deering, Alan (Jan) Dunn, Fargo; stepgrandchildren, Shawn (Tabitha) Dunn, Natalie (Tommy) McElmeal, Myron Jr. (Brandie), Jason (Donelle) and Clinton Mogard, Robyn (Troy) Garrison, Nathan Dunn, Susan Carson, Jennifer (Rick) McElderry, Shayne Saeland and Rob (Jennifer) Olson; stepgreat-grandchildren, Samantha Dunn, Lucas and Olivia McElmeal, Ashley, Lindsey and Katie Mogard, Camden Silha, Dakota and Samantha Dunn, Kailan and Sierra McElderry, Austin, Alexander and Mikala Carson, Connor and Cole Saeland, and Brayden Olson; sister, Betty Eide, Missoula, Mont.; and several nieces and nephews.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Richard and Milton; sisters, Irene, Nelia, Minnie, Emmeline and Lydia; and brothers, Joseph and Leo.
Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.
Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot.
