OBITUARY
Mary Peoples was born Jan. 30, 1844 in Carol (sic) county, Ohio.
When seven years of age she moved with her parents to Valpariso (sic), Ind. In 1883 she moved to Republic county, Kansas and two years ago she moved to Hebron and this has since been her home.
On January 26th, 1864 she was married to Geo. Brumbaugh. To this union nine children were born, four sons and five daughters. Of these, one son died in infancy; one daughter, Emma died at the age of 17 years; Anna, at the age of six; and Mrs. Etta Holt at the age of 23.
She is survived by her husband, Geo. Brumbaugh of Hebron. Also by three sons: John of Chester; Leroy of Dallas, S. Dak.; Oscar of Maymont, Canada; two daughters, Clare Blanchard and Katie Holmes of Maymont, Canada; two sisters, Rebecca Eddy of Republic City, Kans. and Jane Kitchel of Detroit, Mich. She is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Sister Brumbaugh became a Christian when nineteen years of age and has lived a devoted life. She had been patient in her suffering and has been ready and willing to go to the great beyond. During the last illness of four months she often asked that the good Lord would take her home. She peacefully passed away at midnight with the close of Jan. 18, 1918.
