Mildred Baird Oren, 88, 105 N. Riley Road, died Monday in Ball Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Oren, who was born in Markle, graduated from Marion High School. She moved to Muncie in 1935. She retired as a bookkeeper from Marion Gas Co. (now Central Indiana Gas Co.) and was a member of Hazelwood Christian Church, Delaware Country Club, Kappa Delta Phi sorority, Marion, and a life member of Eastern Star.
Survivors include a sister, Jean Ricker (husband: Cecil), Altamonte Springs, Fla., and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Ralph E. Oren, died in 1982. Her husband, along with Oscar Shively, formerly co-owned Magic City Beverage Co. A sister also is deceased.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Parson Mortuary, with Dr. Robert G. Sulanke officiating. Entombment will be in Elm Ridge Mausoleum. Calling will be after 1 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
