Found in The State 21 June 1939: Mrs. Annie Reaux Caldwell Jones, widow of Gen. Wilie Jones, died at 8:45 yesterday morning at the home of her son, Caldwel Jones, Wit-Mary apartments, after a long illness. Born in Columbia August 29, 1865, she was the daughter of the late John D. and Lucy Davis Caldwell. One May 20, 1886, she married General Jones, who for many years was active in the political life of the state. He was in the banking business here for many years and was treasurer of the state Democratic party. Funeral services will be conducted at 6 o'clock this afternoon from Trinity Episcopal church by the Rev. A. G. B. Bennett, rector of St. Timothy's Episcopal church. Interment will be in Elmwood cemetery. Mrs. Jones was a lifelong member of Trinity Episcopal church and was a charter member of the Assembly. Her old home on Hampton street was the scene of many of Columbia's brightest social functions over a period of many years. Mrs. Jones is survived by her son; one daughter, Mrs. R. Austin Childs of Flushing, Long Island, and four grandchildren, Richard Childs, Jr., Wilie Jones Childs, Brevard Childs and Annie Childs, all of Flushing.
