Edwin Leo Johnson (Pete)

Edwin "Pete" Johnson, a resident of Lincoln since 1953, died February 18, 2012 in the care of Sutter Roseville Hospice at the Lincoln Brookview Residential Care Facility.
Pete began his career in the newspaper business while in his 20s, finally retiring from the Sacramento Bee in 1973. Following his retirement, he enjoyed the remaining 39 years of his life with his beloved wife of 62 years, Jacqueliene McKee Johnson, a retired Lincoln elementary school teacher.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2012 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Lincoln Funeral Home, 406 H Street. The funeral service will be on Friday, March 2, 2012 at 10 a.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, 490 L Street, with a reception following in Martin Hall. The family requests any donations be made to the St.James Episcopal Church.
The family wishes to express gratitude to Marivel Jacobson, owner of the Brookview Residential Care Facility and the staff of the Sutter Hospice for their wonderful care, and to the members and clergy of St. James Episcopal Church for their enduring friendship.
