She was a 1938 graduate of University High School and worked many years at the Moore and Parriott Pharmacy. Mrs. Malone was a nurse's aid during World War II. A lifelong Mountaineer fan, Mrs. Malone attended football and basketball games well into her 80's. A devoted mother and grandmother, she lived the past 13 years in the Charleston area to be near her daughter, Faye. In recent years she resided at Charleston Gardens and at Mary's Garden in Marmet, WV.
She was preceded in death by
her husband, Earl D. Malone of Morgantown, WV;
her parents, Mary Edith and Edward Samuel Champnella.
She is survived by
her daughter, Faye Gianola Zinn of Cross Lanes;
two granddaughters, Gina Zinn of Tacoma, Washington and Dr. Tracy E. Zinn and husband Dr. Bryan Saville of Harrisonburg, Virginia;
two great-grandsons, Rylan and Dainen Saville of Harrisonburg;
one brother, Fred Champnella of Florida;
one sister, Helen Sterling of Peekskill, New York;
several nieces and nephews;
the extended families of Faye Zinn and Earl D. Malone.
