DENVER - Services for Howard W. Flora, 94, of Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, will be held at 11 am Tuesday in McClain Funeral Home, He died at 9:55 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2003, at his residence. Born Nov. 3, 1908, in Wabash County, he was the son of William J. and Myrti M. Merrick Flora. On July 7, 1934, in Indianapolis, he was married to Mary Glee Kantner, who died March 13, 1982. He was married Feb. 19, 1983, in Twelve Mile, to Erma Louise Graf, who died May 30, 1994. Mr. Flora was a grader operator for the Miami County Highway Department. Surviving are one sister, Irene McKillip, North Manchester; three stepsons and their wives, Richard and Connie Graf, Logansport, Larry and Glenda Graf, Panama City, Fla., and Mike and Rhonda Graf, Stockdale; two step daughters, Madelyn Putnam and her husband Ken, Pascoag, R.I., and Karen Mustachio, Denver; and special friends, Todd and Debbie Hagan, Denver, and Mike and Sandy Miller, Peru. One son, Alex "Bud" Flora; two brothers, Harold Flora and Hugh Flora; and five sisters, Monterey Kinerk, Edith Miller, Marguerite Peffley, Kathleen Horner and Virginia Thornet preceded in death. The Rev. John Mishler and the Rev. Jordan Truman will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
