Dorothy May Holmes
age 94, of Belleville, MI, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2012. She was born March 19, 1918 in Howe, Indiana, daughter of the late Raymond & Florence Gunthorp.
Dorothy was a very active member of Liberty Baptist Church, Belleville, MI, where she was in the ladies group and enjoyed writing for their newsletter. She liked to garden, and her first love was her family.
Survived by three children Malcolm (Helen) Holmes of Whitmore Lake, MI, Louis (Jessie) Holmes of California and Jacqueline Rider of Ypsilanti, MI, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, also a sister, Leora Swihart of Idaho. She was prededed in death by her husband Malcolm Holmes on December 25, 2001 and a son Frederick Larimer on December 5, 1985.
Visitation will be 3-8 PM Tuesday and 11-Noon Wednesday, August 22, 2012 with a Noon Funeral Service at the David C. Brown Temporary Viewing Chapel, 500 E. Huron River Drive, Belleville. Pastor Bill Adkins will officiate. Interment will be in Michigan Memorial Park, Flat Rock, MI.
