Binghamton: Barbara A. Bogart, 56, of Binghamton, went to be with the Lord Sunday morning, May 29, 2011, at her home after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

She was predeceased by her mother, Dorothy Pendlebury; her father-in-law, Lawrence Bogart; and a brother-in-law, Gary Bogart.

She is survived by her loving husband and guardian angel of 34 years, David A. Bogart, Binghamton; her children, Ann Marie, Candice and Kimberly Bogart; David V. and Stacey Bogart, all of Binghamton; two grandchildren, Ryan and Madison Bogart; her father, Robert Pendlebury, Johnson City; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Lynn (Penny) Pendlebury, Johnson City, Nancy and Donald Chier, Binghamton; her mother-in-law, Celestina Bogart, Binghamton; also several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, including her devoted nieces, Veronica and Valerie and nephew, Donnie; and many dear friends and supporters too numerous to mention.

Barbara was a former employee of Grand Way/Grand Union in Binghamton for 16 years, where she met the man of her dreams. She also worked at Lowe's in Vestal for 12 years. Barbara was an avid shopper and closed many a dollar store. She loved to decorate for holidays and loved spending time with her family more than anything. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held at the J.F. Rice Funeral Home Inc., 150 Main St., Johnson City, Friday at 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. at St. James Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Cancer Center Administration, 5150 Centre Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15232 in Barbara A. Bogart's memory.
