Clyde Horton, 76, of Woodlawn, passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center. Mr. Horton was born in Carroll County to the late Brooks and Laura Roseberry Horton. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two sons, Doug Horton and Isaac Horton. Survivors include his wife, Pauline B. Horton of the home; son and daughter-in-law Larry and Gina Horton of Galax; sisters and brother-in-law, Allene Shockley of Hillsville, Opalene and Chester Combs of Mount Airy, and Alta Sumners of Woodlawn; grandsons, Marc Horton, Matt Horton, and Ronnie Horton; sisters-in-law, Alta Horton and Lovelene Horton both of Hillsville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at 4:00 PM with Rev. David Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Henley Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00 until 4:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
