Smithfield - J.G. Bridges, 69, of Garner, Route 1, died at Duke Hospital, Durham, Tuesday morning after an illness of 8 months. Funeral Services will be conducted at New Bethel Baptist Church Thursday at 2pm by the Rev. W.A. Weston, pastor of the church, and interment will be made in the church cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs Ella Bridges, four sons, E.E. (Ernest Edgar), M.P. (Marion Posey), and Howard Bridges Sr., all of Hildebran, and Fletcher Bridges of Valdese; a daughter, Miss Corrie Bridges of Hildebran; two brothers, Lonnie Bridges of Garner and Crowell (Oliver Crowell) Bridges of Columbia, and seven grandchildren.
