Coy served in WW 11 and was stationed in Japan. He didn't say alot of what went on, but I remember seeing an old picture of him standing beside a tank.

Coy was married to Anna Bell Mackey. They had three children. Carolyn, Thelma and James. Coy loved to farm and he loved to fish in Clinch River. He was always cooking supper for someone. Coy was my uncle and alot like a dad to me too. I really miss him as I'm sure we all do. Coy was alot of fun and I never saw him have a down day. He was alway's good to go to when I needed advice about something important. He was really good to my son, Johnny who is in Heaven. I was lucky to have a great family. Coy worked in Michigan for year's and came back to TN to retire and farm, which was more work, but he enjoyed it. He loved to put out gardens and always raised enough of everything to share with anyone. He taught me to can tomato juice. He let me drive his tractor....I ran over the water we had took with us so we had none but he didn't fuss. He took everything in stride and he had more friend's than anybody I have ever known. He was loved and I was blessed to have known him.

~Soldiers Grave~

Tread lightly, tis a soldiers grave,
A lonely, mossy mound;
And to hearts like mine and thine
It should be Holy ground.

Speak softly, let no careless laugh,
No idle, thoughtless jest,
Escape your lips where sweetly sleeps,
This hero in his rest.

For him, no reville will beat
When morning beams shall come;
For him, at night, no tahoo rolls
It thunders from the drum.

Tread lightly! for a man bequeathed,
Ere laid beneath this sod,
His ashes to his native land,
His gallant soul to God.
