The Funeral service Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 1pmCT, at Stotts-Phelp-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Stanley Watson, Dr. Ted Taylor, and Bro. Lewis Haynes the officiating clergy. Interment will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty RD, Columbia, KY. Masonic rites will be conducted Monday evening at 7:00pmCT at the funeral home. Visitation will be after 4:00pmCT Monday, November 8, 2010.
He was born on August 27, 1924. He was the foster son of the late Mr. W.R. "Bill" Gifford and Mrs. Mallie Jane Aaron Gifford He died Friday, November 5, 2010, in Campbellsville, Taylor Co., KY, at the age of 86 years, 2 months, and 9 days.He is survived by his wife McEva Bradshaw Mayse of Glensfork, KY and the following:
One son: Richard Mayse and wife Phyllis of Glensfork, KY.
One daughter: Nancy Mann and husband David of Elizabethtown, KY.
One granddaughter" Sulayne Grider and husband J. D. of Glensfork, KY.
Three great grandchildren: Heather Grider and husband Josh, Samantha Grider and Sara Grider.
He was a member of Columbia Baptist Church. Prior to his retirement, he was a State Fire Marshal, Department of Housing Inspector for new Construction and Electrical. He was Veteran of World War II, a member of the local V.F.W. and DAV, a member of Columbia Masonic Lodge #96.
