MRS.EMMA SAMPSON


Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Friday in the Stoney Point Methodist Church, Calhoun County, for Mrs. Emma Sampson,78, of Arnoldsburg, widow of the late Ralph Sampson, who died Tuesday at the Marietta Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.


The Rev. Charles and Ruby Wilkinson will officiate with burial to be in the Gibson Cemetery at Altizer.


Born at Altizer, Calhoun County, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Cora Starcher-Craddock, and was a member of the Walnut Grove Methodist Church in Rocksdale.


Survivors include four sons, Earnest of St. Albans, Cyrus of Rockport, Frank of Akron, O., and Ralph Jr. of Little Hocking, O.; six daughters, Mrs. Leval Starcher of Rittman, O., Mrs. Velta Starcher of Mentor, O., Mrs. Alta Starcher, Arnoldsburg, Mrs. Thelma Roach of Belpre, Mrs Bessie Nutter of Flemming, O., and Mrs. Nina Mae Saunders of Parkersburg.


Also surviving are 37 grandchildren and 47 great-grand children; two sisters, Mrs. Ocie Sampson of Spencer and Mrs. Amy Roberts of Arnoldsburg; and four brothers, Ottie Craddock of Barberton, O., Shirley Craddock of Mt. Zion, and Roscoe and Glover Craddock, both of Arnoldsburg.


She was preceded in death by one son, one daughter, one brother and one sister.
