Jessie Lou Ross, 93. of Gonzales, passed away Monday September 30, 2010. She was born on November 28, 1916 in Floresville, Texas to Dewitt and Signa Harper Bundrick. She married Porter Elliot Ross on December 20, 1940 in Floresville.
Jessie taught elementary education in Shiner, Yoakum and Gonzales schools. She worked as a substitute teaching after retirement. She also assisted her husband in his businesses by working as his bookkeeper. Jessie loved working crossword puzzles; she enjoyed playing dominoes and canasta with her husband and friends and found peace puttering around her flower garden.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Larry Elliott
Ross and wife Pat of Austin, brother, Bill Bundrick of Cleveland and her fear companion Flo Blundell of Gonzales and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a brother Harper Bundrick.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with pastor Andy
Smith officiating. Interment followed at Gonzales Memorial Park. Pallbearers were; Sam Bundrick. Jimmy Bundrick, Edward Pierce, Bubba Hermann, David Janota and Richard Bates. Memorials may be made to Hospice of South Texas. The family received friends at the funeral home Thursday afternoon from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral services.
