Eileen Lenora (Bartels) Brauer was born September 11, 1925 on a farm near Daykin, Nebraska, the daughter of Adolph and Hulda (Schwisow) Bartels and passed away in Seward, Nebraska on May 27, 2016 at the age of 90 years, 8 months, 16 days. Eileen was baptized on October 3, 1925 and confirmed in Christ on April 2, 1939. She was a graduate of Daykin High School. Following high school graduation, Eileen moved to Seward to work at Memorial Hospital. On March 14, 1948, Eileen was united in marriage to Victor Richard Brauer at Zion Lutheran Church in Tobias, Nebraska. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Denny, Diane and Larry. Victor passed away in 1953 and Eileen was devoted to raising their children. Eileen was employed with Lincoln Telephone Company in Seward for many years and when the Seward office closed she moved with the company to work at the Lincoln office until her retirement. Eileen was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Seward. Her hobbies were gardening, cooking and working with her flowers.
Eileen is preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Hulda Bartels; her husband, Victor Brauer; parents-in-law, Henry and Johanna Brauer and her granddaughter, Dixie Lynn Grieser.

Survivors cherishing Eileen's memory include her children and their spouses, Denny and Shirley Brauer, Del Rio, TX, Diane and Paul Grieser, Lincoln, Larry and Pat Brauer, Seward; five grandchildren: Chad (Nikki) Brauer, Jason (Michelle) Grieser, Justin Grieser and friend Kirsten Richardson, Ryan (Leigh Erin) Brauer, Sam Brauer; nine great-grandchildren: Colby Brauer, Abby Brauer, Makenna Brauer, Allyson Grieser, Erich Grieser, Olivia Grieser, Easton Grieser, Regan Brauer, Mackinley Brauer; sisters and brothers-in-law, Leanna Matthes, Lincoln, Ruth and Dean Albers, Lincoln, Shirley and William Obermier, Waco; sisters-in-law, Louise Walla, North Dakota, Viola Wolfe, Texas; nieces and nephews and a host of friends. To this obituary we add our thoughts, prayers and memories of life shared with Eileen. Eileen married Victor R. Brauer on March 14, 1948 and they are the parents of three children.
