John married Mary Magdalena Sivey (1764-1830) at Stony Ck Zion Pine Church, Shenandoah, Virginia, United States on Sept. 6, 1788. Mary was the daughter of Matthias Sivey (1738 – 1805) and Barbara Grant Sivey (1747 – 1808).
