Funeral arrangements were completed today for Mrs. Henrietta E. Gambill, long-time resident of Kern county and prominent member of the First Christian Church at Taft, who died Monday[, Apr. 11, 1932,] at a local hospital following an extended illness.
Rites for the former Kern matron will be held at the First Christian Church in Bakersfield on Friday, April 15, at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Charles H. Hulme will officiate. Two soloists will participate in the services, one of whom will be Mrs. Roy Lammiman. Interment will be in the family plot at Union cemetery. Payne & Son chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Gambill was the widow of the late George W. Gambill of Texas. She was born in Washington county, Texas, on August 7, 1866, and had resided in Kern county for almost two decades. She made her home at 406 County Road, Taft.
She is survived by three sons, four daughters and six grandchildren. The sons and daughters are Homer C. Gambill of Overton, Texas; George W. Gambill and Robert Y. Gambill, both of Las Vegas, Nev.; Mrs. Walter V. Smith of Whittier, Mrs. Rush Phillips of Rockdale, Texas; Mrs. Nettie E. Stanton of San Jose, and Mrs. William C.
