Mary Wurtz passed away in her home, Eudora, KS, on Tuesday, August 14, 2012. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday August 18th at Rose of Sharon Pentecostal Church 9621 E. 38th Terr. Kansas City, MO 64133. Visitation will be from 6:00-8 p.m. Friday August 17th at Carson-Speaks Chapel 1501 W. Lexington Ave Independence MO 64052 Interment at Mound Grove Cemetery. Mary was born in 1929 in Mound City Kansas to James Harvey and Montcella Mae Millard. She was a homemaker who raised 11 beautiful children. As a member of the church Mary was a devoted prayer warrior, lifting her voice to God for those in need. Mary was preceded in death by her first husband Irvin Wurtz; daughter Idella Baber; son-in-law, Bob Baber; and daughter-in-law, Sandy Wurtz. She is survived by her husband Albert Wurtz; sons Robert (Wanda) Wurtz, Warsaw, MO; Richard (Terri) Wurtz, Pleasant Hill, MO; Gary Wurtz, Pleasant Hill, MO; Jerry Wurtz, Eudora, KS; Dennis (Lucy) Wurtz, Oak Grove, MO; JB (Tammy) Wurtz; Independence, MO; Douglas (Jennie) Wurtz Blue Springs, MO; daughters, Connie (Floyd) Wiesner, Gladstone, MO; Loretta (Russell) Hillyard, Bethany, MO; Karen (Darren) Berry, Independence, MO; 29 grandchildren; 69 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; and siblings James, Bonnie, Delma, and Delbert. The family encourages contributions to the American Cancer Society in Mary's name; 1100 Pennsylvania Ave, Kansas City, MO 64015.
