Dale Vernon Gossage, 69, of Burkesville, Ky., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, at the Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.
He was born on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 1942, in New Castle, Indiana, the son of Willard and Retta Ramsey Gossage. He was a self-employed business man. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Willard Gossage, Robert Gossage and William Gossage, his sister, Eunice Newton, and his son, Tracey Lee Gossage.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Smith Gossage of Burkesville, Ky., his children, Misty Gossage Thompson of Burkesville, Ky., Judy Lynn Gossage Reno (and John) of New Castle, and Carrie Gossage Stearns (and Clint) of Burkesville, Ky., his sister, Phyllis Fernander of New Castle, his grandchildren, Chris, Cheri, Casey and Shawna, his great-grandchildren, Lance, Courtney and Makaila.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, Aug. 18, in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Ky., with Rev. Gary Cash officiating. Special memories were shared by his daughter, Judy Reno, and his granddaughter, Shawna Malone.
Burial was in the Gossage Family Cemetery in Russell County, Ky. Pallbearers were Clint Stearns, Greg Barker, Jordan Turner, Micheal Smith, John Reno and Anthony "Duck" Anderson.
