James M. Bacon was born April 17,1820, at Hannibal New York, He married Corinthia Moore at Kenosha (then South Port) Sept 25, 1842; they joined the Wisconsin Phalanx and came into the domain Dec 1 1844, with their daughter Ellen A; born at Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin Territory Feb 15 1844.
Mrs Bacon was born March 7, 1824, at Hannibal, New York and she died February 28 1907 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James Burlingame at Montello Wisconsin.
The sexton's record of Wisconsin Phalanx also shows three childern besides Ellen; Eveline F Bacon born Nov 28 1846 at Cereso; Emma I Bacon born March 5 1845 at Cereso; Emerette L Bacon born march 20 1848.
James Bacon died May 6 1899; four childern survived the widow, in 1907, Mrs Edwin H. Bacon of Milwaukee, Mrs Eva Church of Marinette, Fred E Bacon of Ripon and Mrs. Charles Burlingame.
James died at his home on Berlin road May 6, 1899, age 79.
The stock ledger of Wisconsin Phalanx shows that his maximum stock interest was 8 shares, par $200, all of which was redeemed by the corporation...
