Calvin Brown, a well known resident of the town of Verona, died at his home which is very near the line of the town of Rome, at 2 o'clock on Friday afternoon, aged 69 years and 11 months. He had inflammation of the valves of the heart and bad been ill some time. Mr. Brown was a life long resident of this vicinity. He was born in the town of Rome and had lived on the farm where he died since 1850. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Rome and was esteemed and respected by all who knew him. He was twice married. He leaves five children by his first wife [Mary Jane Morton], Mrs. V. C. T. Kingsley of Danville, IL,, Mrs. Herbert K.(Minnie) Sedgwick of Dexter, MI, Mrs. Lizzie B. Kennedy of Rome, Miss E. Grace Brown of Rome and Dr. Ernest C. Brown of Madrid, IA. Also his second wife [Elizabeth Hillock] and five children, Eunice H., C. Elvira, J. Edward, and Luther G. at home, and Myra E. of Utica. Three brothers, Albert B. of Greenway, Luther of Iowa and Gregory of Illinois are living.
