Ernest "Bo" Bennett

Benton, LA - Ernest "Bo" Bennett's earthly journey ended Saturday, March 29, 2014 after a long illness.

Bo will be missed by his family and friends that he treasured dearly. Visitation will be Monday, March 31, 2014 from 5-7pm at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Bossier City. Funeral service to celebrate a life well lived will be held at 9:30am Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at Rose-Neath Bossier Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. David Dietzel of the First United Methodist Church Bossier, where Bo was a member of for 50 years.

Bo was the son of Ernest J. Bennett and Melba Roberts Bennett Skeeles. He was born on December 21, 1931 in Rochelle, LA. He graduated from Bossier High School. Before entering college Bo served in the US Army in Korea. Returning from the service, Bo entered and graduated from Centenary College. He worked and retired from the U.S. Department of Labor as a Compliance Officer.

Bo is preceded in death by both his father and mother. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Wanda Seabury Bennett and children Sherrie B. Yorba (Mike), Jeffrey Bennett (Sherry), and Tracy Beckett (Kedrick); grandchildren, Ashley Yorba Rodrigue (Andre), Michael Yorba, Justin Bennett (Meghan), Austin Beckett, and Taylor Beckett; great-grandchildren, Owen Rodrigue, Mary-Avery Rodrigue and Jackson Bennett; sister, Mary Bennett Heins Hazelwood.

Honoring Bo as pallbearers will be his son-in-laws, grandsons, and grandson-in-law.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to Dr. Roy Fleniken and the entire staff at the Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Home for the compassionate loving care shown to Bo and our family.

The family suggest that in lieu of flowers, gifts to be made to the N.W.LA War Veterans Home or the charity of your choice.
