Funeral services for Joy Darlene Andrew, 80, who died Wednesday, April 28, 2004, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center were held Monday, May 3, at Bybee & Davis Funeral Home. Rev. Peter J. Peterson officiated at the services. Jim Kidder was organist.
Interment was at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville. Casket bearers were Troy Jensen, Tom Jensen, Don Merrill, Kelly Shadden, Bob VanDyke, and Jim Glover. Honorary bearers were Paul Glover, David Glover, Leon Jensen, and Dan Russell.
Joy was born on Jan. 1, 1924, in Marion County, the daughter of Dave and Mamie (Slykhuis) Glover. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed mushrooming, bingo and traveling. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Knoxville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; brother, Paul W. Glover; sister, Dorothy Jensen; and nephew, David Glover.
She is survived by her nieces, Darla Bauer and Denise Hafenbrack of Des Moines, Rita Shadden and Linda Merrill of Omaha, Neb.; her nephews, Paul Glover of Des Moines, James Glover of Laughlin, Nev., Tom Jensen of Madrid, and Troy Jensen of Avoca; brother-in-law Leon Jensen of Omaha, Neb.; and many other family members and friends.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church.
