He was born February 2, 1949, in Ohio, the son of Alden and Kathleen Forrest Knowlton. He graduated from Watertown High School and worked for several various companies through JRC, most recently at Dohl Janitorial Services.
An avid collector of books and record albums, he enjoyed reading and listening to music especially music from Dusty Springfield. A nature enthusiast, he had an extensive rock and mineral collection, loved animals, and could often be seen riding around the city on his bicycle.
Rah is survived by two sisters, Sherry Knowlton,Watertown and Melody Atkins, Nanticoke, PA, a brother Michael O'Rourke, Farmington, NY; a dear niece, Erin Birchenough, Black River, and several other nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Wednesday August 15 from 6 - 8pm at the Cleveland Funeral Home Watertown. A graveside service will be Thursday August 16, at 12:00 PM at North Watertown Cemetery, Bradley Street.
Memorial donations may be made in his memory to Jefferson Rehabilitation Center.
