Found in The Charlotte News 27 Nov 1973: Mrs. Lettie A. Lovern, 78, of 3317 Rozzells Ferry Rd., died yesterday in Hawthorne Nursing Center. Born Aug. 16, 1895, in Hartwell, Ga., she was the daughter of Melvin and Lula Allen. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. D. E. Kennedy of Charlotte and Mrs. A. P. Hart of Austin, Tex.; three sons, Lewis Lovern, Melvin Lovern and Ray T. Lovern of Charlotte; four sisters, Miss Blanche Allen, Miss Elsie Allen and Miss Oveline Allen of Greenville, S. C., and Mrs. Y. J. Vogies of Lowell; and a brother, Ben O. Allen of Anderson, S. C.
