Gilbert K. Frampton of Easton, MD, formerly of Tilghman Island, died on Sunday, September 18, 2005 at Memorial Hospital at Easton. He was 95.

Born December 21, 1909 on his Uncle George Frampton's farm on Tilghman Island, he was the son of the late Walter and Levinia Niblett Frampton. Mr. Frampton owned and operated a lawn-care service after working on the family farm as a young man.

On September 6, 1956 he married the former Francis Fair, who died July 5, 1958. His second marriage was to Dalla Collins. On May 19, 1975, he married the former Louise Sedgwick Holland, who died May 10, 2004.

Mr. Frampton enjoyed talking about friends, family and growing up on Tilghman Island. He spent his days faithfully writing in his journal. He also enjoyed walking. He was known for walking around Easton, shopping at Safeway, and stopping to talk to the many people with whom he had become friends. Before the death of his wife Louise, he could be seen pushing her wheel chair all around town.

For many years, Mr. Frampton attended Tilghman United Methodist Church in Tilghman, and later attended churches in the Easton area.

Mr. Frampton is survived by four step-daughters, Brenda Cummings and her husband Mark of Wittman, Mary Felgenhouer, Annabelle Adams and her husband Bobby of St. Michaels, and Gloria Elzey and her husband Roy of Cambridge; a step-son, Douglas Holland of SC; many step grand, great-grand and great-great grandchildren; a niece, Hazel Lemmon of Baltimore; and two great nieces, JoAnn Hopkins and her husband Clayton of PA, and Jackie Jump and her husband Jack of Salisbury. There was a special place in his heart for his step-grandchildren, Sheila, Smokey, Amy, Michelle and Aaron and great grandsons, Luke and Severn. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ferril Frampton and Percy Frampton; two sisters, Reba Adams and Blanche Yewell; and a very special friend, Bob Harrison.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Tilghman United Methodist Church, Tilghman, MD where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Tilghman Memorial Cemetery, Tilghman, MD. Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Cummings, Aaron Cummings, Dale Todd and Bobby Adams, Jr.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Tilghman United Methodist Church, 5731 Tilghman Island Road, Tilghman, MD 21671.
