When Luverna Ruth Everson was born on 11 September 1910, in Saskatchewan, Canada, her father, Gilbert Franklin Everson, was 27 and her mother, Ada Lavada Everson, was 34. She married Harry Whittington on 2 September 1930. They were the parents of one adopted son, James Harold Whittington. After the Everson family returned to The U.S. in 1921, Peggy, then age 19, married Harry, age 26 in Summit County, Ohio. Harry worked at Kash Roofing working his way up to Secretary and eventually purchasing the company. They lived on S. Main Street just north of E. Caston Rd. before eventually moving from Green to Manchester at 4851 Manchester Rd. Peggy loved gardening and was a member of the Midlake Garden Club for decades as well as an alumnus of the Board of Trustees of Akron-Summit County Federal of Women's Clubs. During the war, Peggy worked for Firestone assembling aircraft control panels. She was a devote member of the Church of Christ on State Street and in her later years the United Church of Christ congregation in Wadsworth. Interestingly Harry was a Methodist and attended the Main St. Methodist Church across from their first home. Peggy passed away at the age of 86.
