Mrs. Celestine Ann Shearin Kennedy, 94, a resident of Sites for 81 years, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Stella Quinn, at 7: 55 a.m. Tuesday in Sacramento.
She was born in Montgomery, Missouri, in 1861 and came to Sites, Antelope Valley in 1866 at the age of 5 with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. John Shearin . She spent her entire life there until she moved to Sacramento seven years ago, after the death of her son, Robert.

Survivors are her son Ray Kennedy, daughter Lola Greenwalt of Sites, Tiny Bright of Oakland, Mattie Nordyke of Carmichael and Stella Quinn of Sacramento; two sisters, Jane Woodard, Meridian, Rose Sine of Durham, and one brother Joe Shearin,
There are many grand children and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock, Friday morning, December 30th, in the Maxwell Methodist church with interment in Maxwell cemetery. J. D. McNary & Son are in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Kennedy, alert and interested, always, in life around her, watched with deep sentiment the steady growth and development of this area, particularly that of Sites and enjoyed reminiscing of the events of the early days. She was true to the pioneer tradition, as are those remaining few of her generation.
