George McWhorter, age 80, of Allen Dale Lane, London, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2004, at his residence.

Born May 8, 1924, in London, Kentucky, he was a foreman with Pease Woodworking Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George McWhorter Sr. and Shaby Barrett McWhorter.

Survivors include his wife, Eileen Harrison McWhorter of London, Kentucky; children Michael McWhorter of Dayton, Ohio, Eugene McWhorter of Cincinnati, Ohio, Barbara Kocevar and Larry McWhorter, of Pearce, Arizona, Ronnie McWhorter of Okeana, Ohio, Robert Farthing of Atlanta, Georgia, Herbert Farthing of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Rachel Stein of Morristown, New Jersey; sisters Dorothy Cochran of Conyers, Georgia, Edna Hubbard of Hamilton, Ohio, Martha George of London, Kentucky, Lorene Spurlock of Hazard, Kentucky, and Beulah Williams of Lexington, Kentucky; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 28, at the House-Rawlings Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Gross officiating. Burial followed in the A.R. Dyche Memorial Park at London.
