Helen Marie Beane, 96, formerly of Strasburg, died on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Arbor View at Willow Valley. On October 12, 1935 she married Henry Lloyd Beane who died in 2005. Helen was born in Baltimore, MD on January 31, 1916, a daughter of the late August and Mary Elizabeth Ward Palmisano. She was educated in the Baltimore Public Schools. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, embroidery and reading. She loved to dance. Mrs. Beane had worked in the Baltimore Public School System, then Moore's Chicks, and then for Lancaster General Hospital as a surgical technician from which she retired. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Lancaster, a former member of First Presbyterian Church of Strasburg, Strasburg Senior Citizens, and the Jolly Red Hatters.

Surviving her are two daughters, Janet Heckenhauer (William) and Anne Kiscaden (L. James); 5 granddaughters; 4 great granddaughters; 2 great grandsons; 3 great great granddaughters; 4 great great grandsons with one great grandson on the way; and a brother Robert Palmisano.

She was preceded in death by two siblings, Mildren Palmisano and John Palmisano.

Funeral services will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Lancaster, 136 East Orange Street, Lancaster, PA on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 11:30AM with Rev. Daniel R. Snyder officiating. Interment will follow in Strasburg Mennonite Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the church from 10:00AM until the time of service.
