Former Grants Pass resident Ada "Pearl" (Monka) Bramblett, 90, of Central Point died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, at her home.A funeral service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Chapel of the Valley-L.B. Hall Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens.Bramblett was born Feb. 11, 1921, in Berea, Ky., to Loyd and Sarah Sanlen. For 47 years, she was married to Albert J. Monka, who died in 1986. She later married William H. Bramblett, who died five years after they were married. In 1959, she moved to Grants Pass from Monrovia, Calif. Twelve years ago she moved to Central Point.While living in Grants Pass, she was a member of the Assembly of God and Foursquare churches. In Central Point, she was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. She enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Grants Pass Golf Club, where she won trophies. She also enjoyed crocheting, sewing and music, especially playing and teaching the organ.Survivors include two daughters, Diane Schell of Hillsboro, and Sharon Lumsden of Grants Pass; a sister, Elaine Schneck of Landers, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Alice Price and Kathy Smith, both of Grants Pass; two stepsons, William Bramblett of Corvallis, and Russell Bramblett of Grants Pass; 20 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.A daughter, Shirley Varner, died July 3, 2011.
