THE PASSING OF WILLIAM P. JONES
(Obituary)
The community was indeed saddened and shocked, when it was learned that William P. Jones, a resident of Ulysses had passed away suddenly at his home here, on Sunday April 3rd, after an illness of short duration. Mr. Jones was dearly beloved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. We extend our sympathy to the bereaved ones.
William P. Jones was born on January 25, 1874, in McClain County, Illinois, and departed this life, April 3, 1932, at Ulysses, Nebr., at the age of 58 years, 2 months and 9 days. He was the eldest son of Thomas and Margaret Jones.
He came to Nebraska with his parents, in 1884. On May 18, 1898, he was united in marriage to Julia Gould, who preceded him in death, August 25, 1911. To this union seven children were born, Arthur, William, Lester and Margaret of Ulysses, Nebraska, James of Bloomington, Illinois, Leo and Dan of Cambridge, Nebraska. He leaves to mourn his loss his seven children, four brothers, two sisters and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services wre held on Wednesday, April 6th, at the Immaculate Conception Church at Ulysses, conducted by Rev. Father J. J. Loughran, and was largely attended. Interment was made in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Ulysses.
