Charles was born Nov. 26, 1916, in the town of Cooperstown, son of the late
Frank and Anna Duffek Bohachek. Charles went to Hickory Grove School in the
town of Cooperstown. On Jan. 29, 1938, Charles married the former Helen Zeman
at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kellnersville. Charles and his wife lived in
Norman, Wis., for five years where he worked in a local cheese factory. In
1942, they moved to Manitowoc where Charles worked for Kasper Construction,
Hamann Construction, Burger Boat Co., and Carl Angoli Building. In 1955, Charles
and his brother, Lester, opened Bohachek Construction, with a carpenters shop
located at 3303 Menasha Ave., Manitowoc. They were involved in building many
local homes, apartment buildings, business buildings, and also remodeling
projects.
Charles was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Holy Name Society, life
member of the Knights of Columbus No. 710 of Manitowoc, a member of the
Wisconsin Czechs, the Norman Czechs Organization, and the lamplighters dance
club in Manitowoc for many years. Charles was also a past member of Master
Builders of Manitowoc County and the Carpenters Union No. 849 District Council
for the Fox River Valley in Wisconsin. Charles enjoyed spending many summers
with his family at their cottage at Whispering Sands Resort at Sand Bay in Door
County.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at St. Francis
of Assisi-Waldo Site, Waldo Boulevard and North 14th Street, Manitowoc. The Rev.
Dan Felton will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow at
Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Reinbold & Pfeffer
Family Funeral Home, 818 State St., Manitowoc, on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, from
5 until 7:30 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of
Mass at 11 a.m. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral
home.
