John A. Curry was one of Muskegon's earliest pioneers.
In 1851, when 19 years of age, he came to Muskegon from Canada, making the circuitous journey of that time by way of Detroit to Battle Creek and then to Grand Rapids by stage.
Married Minerva Dill on April 24, 1855 (she was first white child born in Muskegon).
Millwright by trade.
He had 8 children.
