- Dale "Shorty" Wright Adams, age 85, passed away Friday, June 22, 2001 at his residence surrounded by loved ones.

Dale was born Oct 14, 1915 in Layton, the son of Merlin Wright and Vera Alice Morgan Adams. He married Mary Louise Morrison Aug 15, 1944 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were married 56 years. Dale was a life long resident of Layton. He graduated from Davis High School. He was an elder in the Adams Park LDS Ward and had served as a home teacher. Dale was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Dale enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing and gardening. He was an honest, hard-worker who lived a down-to-earth lifestyle and appreciated the simple things in life. Dale's family was the love of his life. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends and by all who knew him.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Louise Morrison Adams; two daughters, Dalene (Delvin) Adams Read, Peggy Ann Adams, Layton; five grandchildren, Matthew, Layton, Deborah (Roger) Foxley, Farr West, Daniel, serving an LDS mission in Baltimore, MD, Robert and Amy Read, Layton. Preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Ivan Adams, Ray Adams, Paul Adams.

Services will be Wed. June 27, 2001, 11 a.m. at the Layton Adams Park/Snowcreek LDS Chapel, 845 N. 1150 E. Friends and family may call Tues. 6-8 p.m. and Wed. 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Lindquist's Memorial Park in Layton.
