George L. McWilliams, 90, of Barling, died August 8, 2012 in Fort Smith.
He was born January 20, 1922 in Afton, Texas to Lewis Tom and Dora Dovie Drake McWilliams.

George grew up in Texas the youngest of twelve children. He married his wife Werdna Johnson McWilliams of sixty-eight and a half years in 1943. He served in U.S. Air Force and was a top turret gunner on a B-25 bomber during World War II and was involved in the occupation of Japan when the war ended. He was a retired Mechanic for Dixie Cup/James River Corp, and he was a member of East Side Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.

He is survived by his wife Werdna of the home; one daughter; two sons, and five grandchildren.

Funeral service were Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in the U.S. National Cemetery all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
