From the Fall River Daily Evening News, April 2, 1903:
Captain Alfred B. Davis, one of our oldest and most esteemed citizens, passed away Tuesday morning, in his 70th year. He was a native of Somerset, and was one of the "Forty niners" to California at the time of the gold fever. He was the owner and master of the last vessel to hail from Freetown, the schooner Addie Randall, which at the present time is in the process of demolition. He leaves a widow and two sons.
