Mrs. E. J. Delaney Is Buried Yesterday Morn
Mary Elizabeth Delaney, nee Mary Elizabeth Oliver, daughter of Benjamin and Fannie Oliver, who was born September 24, 1870, passed away Saturday, October 26, at the home of her son, M. L. Delaney.
She was married to E. J. Delaney on May 21, 1890, and they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary this year. Mrs. Delaney spent her entire life in Macon County.
Besides her husband, she leaves to mourn her passing, the following children: Leona, Mrs. J. H. Mettes, Anna, Mrs. J. J. Lynch, Emma, Mrs. B. D. Summers, all of Kansas City; M. L. Delaney of Macon, Bernard of Roselle, Ill.; Olive, Mrs. James A. Bell of Conesville, la.; and Web M. Delaney of Huntington Park, Cal.
Also surviving are twenty-six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a half-sister, Mrs. Frank Gossett, of Allison, la.
Funeral services were held Monday morning, October 28, at 9 o'clock at the Immaculate Conception Church with the Rev. Fr. P. E. O'Rourke officiating. Burial was made in the family lot in St. Mary's cemetery in Macon.
