Funeral services for Henry Stavenau, 86, were held on Sept. 1 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Raymond Swanson officiating. He was laid to rest in the Church cemetery.
Mr. Stavenau was born on Dec. 13, 1884, in Elysian Township, LeSueur County, to Mr. and Mrs. August Stavenau. He attended the rural schools and on Feb. 21, 1905, he was married to Wilhemina Pauli at St. Paul Lutheran Church at German Lake. He farmed in LeSueur County for his entire life.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ray (Gladys) Ballman of rural Waterville; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; two sons, Oscar and Clarence; four sisters, and three brothers.
