BARTONVILLE -- Ruth L. Hartter, 75, of 6523 Smithville Road died at 10:25 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, 1994, at her home.
Born June 9, 1919, in Peoria to Charles and Eva East Sutton, she married Martin Hartter on Sept. 5, 1959. He survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Donald C. Brooks and James A. Brooks, both of East Peoria, and Robert L. Brooks of Peoria; two daughters, Judy Knack of Eureka and Mrs. Ralph (Marsha) Duke of Beach Grove, Tenn.; three sisters, Letha O'Neill of Peoria, Evelyn Ridge of Peoria Heights and Eileene Puckett of East Peoria; 21 grandchildren; and 31 great- grandchildren. One sister preceded her in death.
She was a licensed practical nurse at the tuberculosis sanitarium in Peoria and at Peoria State Hospital. She also worked for Hiram Walker & Sons in Peoria.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Morton. The Rev. John Shaeffer will officiate. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are by Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria.
Memorials may be made to Saint Francis Medical Center hospice program in Peoria.
