Donald Jack Hoorn, age 79, of Grand Rapids, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 8, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arie and Dorothy Hoorn; brother, Roger Hoorn. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Maxine; their children, Timothy and Nicki Hoorn, Pamela Hoorn, Kelly and Luis Diaz; 12 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sisters, Patricia DenHof, Marcia Chandler; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lila Brummel, Ruth Post, Louise and Richard Zeeff, Velma and Alvin Vander Klay; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 am on Saturday at Fairway Christian Reformed Church, 1165 44th St., Jenison, with Rev. David Den Haan and Pastor Ed Tamminga officiating. Interment Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Friday at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the building fund at Fairway Christian Reformed Church.
