Fatal Wreck On Ohio Electric Near Lima
Two Interurban Cars Crash While Going at Full Speed-Exploding Fuse Fires Wreckage and House Near Track Burns
Two men were instantly killed, another perhays (sic) fatally injured and a house burned to the ground as the result of a collision between two interurban cars, a passenger and an express, on the Ohio Electric, shortly after seven o'clock, Sunday morning, at Convoy, a small station near Lima, says a special from Lima.
The dead are: Pearl H. McPherson, Lima, motorman of express car; Earl Rothrock, Lockington, expressman.
James Risk, baggageman, Lima, was fatally injured and several of the passengers on both cars were slightly hurt.
The collision occurred at a place where the tracks curve around an untenanted house. Both cars were going at full speed and crashed into each other with terrific forced. An exploding fuse sent the wreckage into a blaze, which communicated with the house and completely destroyed it.
Risk was electrocuted while McPherron (sic) was literally mangled to pieces by being caught between the two cars.
The passenger car, was west bound and the express car was going east, both at high speed.
It is said that the passenger was instructed to wait at Convoy until the express car passed but for some reason the order was not carried out. THE MORNING REPUBLICAN article, Findlay, Oh., Mon., 28 Mar. 1910 A.D.

Funeral of Earl Rothrock Held From Dunkard Church
Mt. Moriah, April 1 --- The body of Earl Rothrock, who was one of the two men killed in the collision of two Ohio Electric cars near Convoy, Sunday Morning, was brought to this place for burial. The funeral was held from the Dunkard church, Tuesday morning. Interment was in the Dunkard cemetery. Mr. Rothrock was the express messenger on the express car. He was electrocuted.
