Charles Leon Herring, age 78, a resident of McGaheysville and formerly of Elkton, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2012. He was born November 19, 1933 in Elkton, to the late Durwood and Nellie Ware Herring.
Mr. Herring graduated from Elkton High School, and was a United States Navy Veteran. He was employed with Merck and Company for forty years.
On July 3, 1954 he married Anita Caroline Herring, who survives. Also surviving are his daughter, Lori Wright of Wheaton, MD; four grandchildren, Anthony Martin, Jackie Martin, Larry Wright and Patrice Wright; his great grandson, Kayden Martin and a close friends, Steve and Brenda Kite.
In accordance to his wishes, all services will be private.
