B. C. FITWATER, 79, DIES AT HOME
Retired Builder, Father of U.S. Commissioner; Rites Set For Sunday

Benjamin Clark Fitzwater, 79, retired contractor and builder and father of U.S. Commissioner A. V. Fitzwater, died yesterday afternoon in his home in Pennsylvania avenue after an illness of seven months. The body was taken to Bartlett's funeral home.
Funeral services are to be held at the residence at three o'clock tomorrow afternoon. The Rev. J. W. Pearson, D.D., pastor of the First M. E. Church, South, is to officiate. Burial is to be in Sunset Memorial Park.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Elvira Summers Fitzwater; two sons, Albert V. Fitzwater of South Charleston and O. R. Fitzwater of Charleston; one daughter, Miss Mamie Fitzwater of Charleston; one sister, Mrs. Virginia Dunbar of Kesslers Cross Lanes in Nicholas county; and three granddaughters, Miss Marie Fitzwater, Miss Louise Fitzwater and Mrs. Karl Zogg.
Mr. Fitzwater was born in Nicholas county July 22, 1856 and had been a resident of Charleston since 1904. He was a member of the First Methodist Episcopal church, South.
