Mr David Neely, a highly respected citizen of near True, this county, died at the home of his son, L D Neely, with whom he resided, Sunday, June 1st, 1919, aged about 63 years. He had long suffered with rheumatism, which, with other complications, caused his death.

Mr Neely was a native of and had spent all his life in Jumping Branch district. He was good man - a loyal friends and neighbor and will be missed by all who knew him. Some time ago he united with the Primitive Baptist church, and passed away, apparently with the happy assurance that all was well with his soul. Mr Neely leaves a wife and nine living children, the latter being - L G and L D, of True, L L Neely, of Hinton, and Mrs Erastus Lilly, Mrs Robt L Lilly and Mrs O L Green, of True; Mrs Grover Sweeney, of Flat Top, and Mrs "Tinker" Meador and Mrs Jackson Meador of Hinton; also 31 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and the following brothers and sisters - Robt W and E B Neely, of True; L M, of Sunlight; W F of Raleigh county and G Benjamin Neely, of North Carolina, and Mrs J H Lilly, of Lilly, and Mrs John M Richmond, of Hinton.

The funeral service was conducted at the grave at 11 o'clock this morning, interment following in the family cemetery on the old home place, near True.
