Robert L. McKay, 63, of 836 NE Eighth St., died Saturday (Sept. 8, 1979) in Stanford University Hospital, Palo Alto, Calif. Born Jan. 26, 1916, in Esterville, Iowa, he had lived here 32 years.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and worked for Southern Oregon Plywood 25 years prior to retirement. He was president of the Grants Pass Lawn Bowling Association.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Slawson's Chapel of the Valley, with the Rev. Daniel Reynolds of St. Anne Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in Hawthorne Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call at Slawson's Funeral Home from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Stanford Cancer Research Fund, 300 Pasteur Drive, Palo Alto, Calif., 94305.

Survivors include his wife, Rosemary, Grants Pass; two sons, Jack, Pleasanton, Calif., and Dick, Hamilton, Mont.; a daughter, Jean Lucido, Pleasanton; four grandchildren.
